The All Star Israel / Kid2Kid "Tisha B'Av Toy Factory"

"This is an amazing activity for Tisha B'Av. The only problem is that it's going to bring the ge'ula - and then what will we do next year?"

- A participant in the All Star Israel / Kid2Kid "Tisha B'Av Toy Factory"

2023 "Tisha B'Av Toy Factory" info:

You're invited to a very special event: the All Star Israel / Kid2Kid "Tisha B'Av Toy Factory" .

Parents, campers, siblings and friends are invited. Please read the details below fully, in order to participate.

Kid2Kid is an organization founded by two of our very own young All Star Israel camper alumni (we're so proud!), which collects, repairs and delivers toys and games to kids in hospitals.

We'll be sorting, game-testing, repairing + refurbishing used toys and games, so kids in children's hospitals can use them.

This is a great opportunity for all of us to clean out some of our crowded closet space at home, donate toys and games that our kids have outgrown, help other children, and improve our "ahavat chinam" and UNITY!

This day isn't part of the regular camp schedule - but we highly recommend coming. This can be an important experience and a nice and meaningful way to spend part of the day. And it's an important and wonderful cause.

The event will be from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (you can come for all or part).

Speaking of "Unity" - this year, we're being hosted by our friends at the Jerusalem HackerCamp, 1 Torah Va'avoda Street, Jerusalem. (Drive to end of access road, Re'ut is on right side of road, after the basketball courts.) A MAP is here.

Notes:

- Everyone is encouraged to bring used games/toys. You can donate used games and toys for Kid2Kid, by bringing them to camp this week, or straight to the "Toy Factory" on Tisha B'Av.

- Please be respectful of HackerCamp's library.

- People will be fasting, so if you need to eat, just please do so outside. (No need to check in or tell anyone.)

- As we said above, parents are encouraged to attend, both to do good, and to set a good example for their kids!

- Participants will be able to come and go freely - so if children come on their own, they should be old enough to be left unattended, and to decide to leave on their own - otherwise they should attend with a parent.

All the best, besorot tovot!

Dovi

P.S. The event is scheduled to be held regardless of events transpiring between now and Tish'a B'Av. (In other words, that quote at the top isn't a problem. If the ge'ula comes first... that's just all the more reason to be at this event!)
